A WARRIOR GOES HOME
YEARS
A great father has died. A servant of the Lord has entered his eternal rest. This servant impacted
many. God had great plans for this servant when he knit him in his mother's womb. God saved him
and prepared good works for him to do. This servant did his work in the church and in the community.
The impact of his silent ministry is felt far and wide.
This servant of the Lord did not have a public, prayer or pulpit ministry. His ministry was service.
Daddy Afolayan has gone to be with the one who taught him how to serve. Jesus declared to his
disciples, "the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." Baba left a legacy of a gentle
love for Christ. A legacy of loving and serving the church. A legacy of loving and serving the least of
Christ disciples . He left a legacy of caring for widows and down trodden. He served the people he
loved. He left a legacy of hard work, serving people both in the church and in the community. He left
a legacy of being a dependable friend to both young and old.
The world and the church will miss Daddy Afolayan. I will miss you more sir. Rest in Christ bosom sir.

Family friend
It is with a heart full of respect and fond remembrance that I pay this tribute to the late Pa Rufus
Afolayan a man whose life was a testament to dignity, wisdom, and quiet strength. Though I knew
him primarily through the deep friendship and brotherhood I share with his son, Daniel Afolayan, it
was clear to all who encountered him that Pa Afolayan was a man of honour and integrity.
At 74, he lived a life that touched many - a father, a guide, a pillar in his family and community. His
values live on through Daniel and the legacy he leaves behind is not only in years, but in impact.
May the family find comfort in the beautiful memories he left behind. With heartfelt sympathy,
Dr. Tope Ojeme
