A WARRIOR GOES HOME
YEARS
Hey Daddy, I miss you so much. I miss your humor that could light up any room, your warm smile that
made everything feel okay, and the way you always pushed me to be a better version of myself. I still
remember how you taught me tens and units back in elementary school, patiently guiding me
through every step. You even shaped my handwriting, making sure it was as neat and beautiful as
yours—I can still see your careful strokes in my mind. You showed me how to pray, how to take notes
in church, and how to love God with all my heart.
You taught me what it means to love practically. Even though we weren't the richest or living in the
biggest apartment, you opened our home to so many family members, giving them a place to stay
and a sense of belonging. You showed me how to be strong, even when life throws its hardest
challenges at you. For four long years, you battled health issues, enduring weekly dialysis, but your
humanity never faded—you remained the kindest, most loving person I knew.
I miss you the most at night, when the world is quiet, and there are no distractions to keep my mind
busy. That's when I feel your absence the deepest, and my heart aches for just one more
conversation, one more laugh. My biggest regret is that I couldn't find a way to ease your pain during
those dialysis sessions—I wish I could have done more for you. But I find comfort knowing you're at
peace now, resting with big Daddy in heaven.
You were my hero, my rock, and I'm so proud to be called your son - and I'm sure this is same for
Stephen and Emmanuel. And yes, same also for your daughter - Modupe, who I call, Star girl. I'll miss
you forever, Daddy. Please keep watching over us from heaven - we'll do our best to make you proud,
just like you always believed we could.

for me. Thank you for being my father, I'm so proud to be your son. I will always carry your love and
memory with me. (RIP DAD)
