A WARRIOR GOES HOME
YEARS
It breaks my heart to say goodbye to you, my dearest friend, my confidant, my beloved husband—the
very best part of me. You were a warrior in every sense, a man who despised lies and lived with
unwavering integrity. Even in your sickness, you never stopped visiting others to offer comfort, your
devotion to God's presence was unmatched, and you always put others before yourself.
I called you Daddy Afolayan with all the love in my heart, and you'd call me your mother, Mummy
Afolayan, with that tender smile that made me feel so cherished. You were a prayer warrior, the
most incredible gift God ever gave me, and now I must face the unbearable truth that I'll never see
you again in this life.
Thank you, my love, for standing firm for Christ even through your illness. Thank you for never
compromising your faith, for being a shining light until the very end. I will miss your radiant smile
that warmed my soul, your words of encouragement that lifted me up on the hardest days, and the
way we'd walk to church together, hand in hand, sharing quiet moments of joy.
Thank you for loving our children with such a big, generous heart—you were the most caring and
accommodating husband a woman could ever dream of. Every bit of help you gave, every sacrifice
you made, I'll carry in my heart forever.
You fought with all your strength, my darling, and you conquered in the way only a true servant of
God could. You poured your whole heart into God's work until your very last day, and I'm so proud of
you. I'll never forget how you'd ask me to massage you, and I'd do it with all the love I had, feeling so
grateful to care for you.
In sickness, when I fed you, you'd lift your heart in prayer, blessing us with your unwavering
devotion. Those moments were so precious, and I'll hold them close forever.
I love you more than words can ever express, Daddy Afolayan, but I know God loves you even more.
Rest in His perfect peace, my heart, until the day we meet again, never to part. I'll carry your love
with me always, my beloved husband, and I'll live to honor the beautiful life we shared.
